About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Payroll Accountant to join their dynamic team on a fully remote basis. This critical role will ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, managing all aspects from data input to final disbursement and reconciliation. You will work independently, ensuring strict adherence to payroll legislation and company policies, while collaborating virtually with HR and Finance departments. Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly or monthly payroll accurately and on time, ensuring all calculations are correct.
- Manage new starter and leaver processes, including P45s and P60s.
- Ensure compliance with current payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, and pension auto-enrolment.
- Reconcile payroll data and resolve any discrepancies or queries promptly.
- Liaise with the HR department to ensure accurate data for payroll processing.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports to management and relevant authorities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in processing payroll, ideally within a UK environment.
- Good understanding of payroll legislation, PAYE, and National Insurance contributions.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, Xero Payroll) and Microsoft Excel.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage workload independently.
