About the Role
Our client, a leading player in the Oil & Gas industry , is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Petroleum Geologist to join their globally distributed exploration team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute from your chosen location, focusing on the geological interpretation and subsurface analysis essential for identifying and evaluating potential hydrocarbon prospects. You will play a key role in shaping the company's exploration strategy by providing expert geological insights, integrating diverse datasets, and collaborating with reservoir engineers and geophysicists to de-risk exploration ventures. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse international projects without the need for relocation.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and integrate seismic, well log, core, and other geological data to define subsurface structures and stratigraphy.
- Identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon plays and prospects, assessing their risk and uncertainty.
- Develop geological models and frameworks for exploration and development projects.
- Collaborate with geophysicists to optimize seismic data acquisition and interpretation workflows.
- Prepare detailed geological reports, prospect evaluations, and presentations for internal review and external partners.
- Stay abreast of the latest geological concepts, technologies, and methodologies in hydrocarbon exploration.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in petroleum exploration , with a strong emphasis on subsurface interpretation.
- Proficiency in geological software packages (e.g., Petrel, GeoGraphix) and seismic interpretation tools.
- Solid understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, structural geology, and basin analysis.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and collaborative skills, with experience working in distributed teams.
