About the Role

Our client is actively seeking an innovative and experienced Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist to join their dedicated research and development team, operating on a fully remote basis. This position is crucial for designing, developing, and optimizing drug delivery systems and dosage forms for new pharmaceutical products. You will leverage your deep understanding of pharmaceutics, materials science, and drug delivery technologies to create stable, effective, and patient-friendly formulations. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and characterize novel drug formulations for various administration routes (e.g., oral, injectable, topical).
• Conduct pre-formulation studies, including solubility, stability, and compatibility assessments.
• Utilize advanced formulation technologies such as nanoparticles, liposomes, sustained-release systems, and amorphous solid dispersions.
• Perform formulation optimization studies to enhance drug bioavailability, stability, and therapeutic efficacy.
• Develop and validate analytical methods for characterizing formulated products and assessing drug release profiles.
• Collaborate with process development teams to ensure formulations are scalable for manufacturing.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, study protocols, and relevant documentation for regulatory submissions.

Requirements

• PhD in Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Extensive knowledge of drug delivery systems, dosage form design, and excipient science.
• Proficiency with analytical techniques relevant to formulation characterization (e.g., DSC, TGA, XRD, particle size analysis, dissolution testing).
• Experience in scaling up formulations from laboratory to pilot scale.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a creative approach to formulation challenges, suitable for a remote working environment.
