Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist to contribute to their drug product development efforts in Portsmouth . This role focuses on the design, development, and characterization of novel drug delivery systems and dosage forms for both small molecule and biologic therapeutics. You will be responsible for investigating and optimizing formulations to enhance drug stability, bioavailability, and patient compliance, working closely with pre-formulation, analytical, and manufacturing teams. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop various pharmaceutical dosage forms, including oral solids, injectables, and topical formulations.
• Conduct pre-formulation studies to understand drug properties and excipient compatibility.
• Optimize formulations for improved drug solubility, stability, and pharmacokinetic profiles.
• Utilize various analytical techniques to characterize formulated products and assess their performance.
• Plan and execute experiments to support formulation development and scale-up activities.
• Prepare technical reports, protocols, and summaries for regulatory submissions.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Hands-on experience with various dosage form development techniques and characterization methods.
• Knowledge of excipient selection, drug-excipient interactions, and stability testing.
• Familiarity with GMP guidelines and regulatory requirements for drug product development.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
