About the Role
Our client is looking for a proficient Power Systems Electrical Engineer to join their team, supporting projects both remotely and from their office in Brighton . This role focuses on the design, analysis, and implementation of robust power systems for a variety of applications, including renewable energy integration and grid infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, reliability, and efficiency of power distribution networks. The ideal candidate possesses a strong theoretical foundation in power systems engineering, practical experience in system design and analysis, and the ability to contribute effectively to a forward-thinking organization, working across diverse projects from the dynamic city of Brighton .
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical power distribution systems for various clients and applications.
- Perform power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis.
- Specify and select power system equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and protection relays.
- Ensure designs comply with national and international power system standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with grid operators, project managers, and other engineers on project requirements and execution.
- Support the commissioning and testing of power systems, troubleshooting any issues that arise.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
- 3-5 years of experience in power systems design and analysis.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
- Solid understanding of renewable energy integration, grid codes, and protection schemes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, essential for hybrid working models in Brighton .
