About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Electrical Engineer to join their team, working remotely with a base in Reading . This role is critical for the design, analysis, and implementation of robust power systems that support our client's extensive infrastructure and operations. You will be involved in everything from grid connection studies to the specification of high-voltage equipment, ensuring reliability and efficiency. Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze electrical power systems, including load flow, short circuit, and stability studies.
- Specify and select power generation, transmission, and distribution equipment.
- Develop protection schemes and coordinate relay settings for power systems.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of power system components and infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant power system standards, codes, and regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on projects involving renewable energy integration and grid modernization.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
- Significant experience (6+ years) in power system design, analysis, and operation.
- Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
- Strong knowledge of power system protection, stability, and control.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote team.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
