About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Process Design Engineer to join their team in Sheffield . This role is crucial for developing and refining the chemical processes that underpin our client's innovative product lines. You will be involved in everything from conceptual design and feasibility studies to detailed engineering and ensuring smooth handover to operational teams. The hybrid nature of this position allows for a blend of collaborative on-site work and remote flexibility, supporting a modern approach to engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop process designs, including PFDs and P&IDs, for new chemical manufacturing processes.
- Perform process simulations and calculations to define equipment specifications and operating conditions.
- Conduct feasibility studies and techno-economic assessments for process development projects.
- Ensure all designs comply with stringent safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, vendors, and site engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical support during the construction, commissioning, and start-up phases of new process installations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering .
- 5+ years of experience in process design and engineering, ideally within specialty chemicals or similar industries.
- Proficiency in process simulation software such as Aspen Plus, HYSYS, or similar.
- Strong understanding of chemical unit operations, safety principles, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent technical drawing and documentation skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork capabilities for a hybrid work setting.
