About the Role
Our client is looking for an innovative and analytical Process Development Scientist to join their dedicated research and development team based in Manchester . This role focuses on optimising and scaling up manufacturing processes for new pharmaceutical compounds, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality. You will play a key part in translating laboratory-scale discoveries into robust, commercially viable production methods. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimise, and validate manufacturing processes for pharmaceutical intermediates and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).
- Scale up processes from laboratory bench to pilot plant and eventually to commercial manufacturing.
- Conduct experiments, analyse data, and interpret results to troubleshoot and improve process performance.
- Prepare technical reports, development summaries, and documentation for regulatory submissions.
- Collaborate with engineers, chemists, and quality assurance teams to ensure process robustness and compliance.
- Investigate and implement new technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
Requirements
- PhD or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical process development.
- Strong understanding of chemical synthesis, reaction kinetics, and unit operations.
- Experience with process scale-up, optimisation, and validation studies.
- Proficiency in analytical techniques relevant to process monitoring and control.
