About the Role
Our client is looking for an innovative and analytical Process Engineer to join their dynamic manufacturing team in Cardiff . This role is central to optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, and reducing waste across all manufacturing operations. You will analyze existing processes, identify areas for enhancement, and implement solutions that drive operational excellence. The successful candidate will have a strong engineering background, a passion for problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including production, R&D, and quality assurance, playing a key role in maintaining our client's competitive edge through advanced manufacturing techniques and continuous process improvement in their Cardiff facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement using data-driven methods.
- Design, develop, and implement new or improved production processes and systems to enhance output and reduce costs.
- Conduct trials and experiments to validate process changes and improvements, documenting all findings and results.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure their implementation and adherence by production staff.
- Collaborate with the engineering and maintenance teams to troubleshoot process-related issues and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor process performance metrics and provide regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Manufacturing).
- Proven experience as a Process Engineer or in a similar role within a manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of process simulation, statistical process control (SPC), and lean manufacturing principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software and process mapping tools.
