About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to join their operations in Milton Keynes. This critical role focuses on ensuring the highest standards of safety across all chemical processes and plant operations. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust safety management systems, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. This is an on-site position where your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining a safe working environment and preventing incidents within the facility.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
Conduct thorough risk assessments, including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies, to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Investigate process safety incidents, near misses, and deviations, providing root cause analyses and corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Develop and deliver process safety training to operational and engineering staff.
Maintain process safety information (PSI) and ensure its accuracy and accessibility.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience (5+ years) in a process safety role within the chemical, petrochemical, or manufacturing industries.
In-depth knowledge of PSM elements, risk assessment techniques, and safety regulations.
Experience with safety instrumented systems (SIS) and functional safety concepts.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
