About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Production Chemist to enhance their operational efficiency within the Oil & Gas industry , based in Reading . This role is vital for optimizing chemical processes and troubleshooting production challenges related to fluid chemistry, corrosion, and scale control. You will analyze production streams, identify chemical issues, and develop practical solutions to improve recovery, ensure asset integrity, and maintain operational uptime. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in applied chemistry and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a complex industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze production fluids (oil, gas, water) to identify chemical compositions and potential issues.
- Develop and implement strategies for corrosion inhibition , scale prevention, and hydrate control.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production chemistry challenges impacting flow assurance and asset integrity.
- Recommend and manage the application of production chemicals to optimize performance.
- Monitor the effectiveness of chemical treatment programs and adjust as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to chemical usage and disposal.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in production chemistry within the Oil & Gas sector .
- Strong knowledge of petroleum processing, fluid properties, and chemical interactions.
- Experience with analytical techniques for oil, gas, and water analysis.
- Familiarity with corrosion, scale, and hydrate management strategies.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills for reporting findings in Reading .
