About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Production Chemist to join their team supporting offshore production facilities, based out of our Plymouth facility. This role is crucial for optimizing production chemistry, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of processing facilities. You will analyze production fluids, monitor process parameters, and recommend chemical treatments to address challenges such as corrosion, scaling, and emulsion formation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of oil and gas production chemistry and possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure asset integrity and maximize hydrocarbon recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze oil, gas, and water samples to determine chemical composition and identify production issues.
- Develop and implement chemical injection strategies to mitigate corrosion, scaling, and hydrate formation.
- Monitor the performance of production chemicals and optimize their application.
- Troubleshoot production chemistry challenges and provide technical recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to chemical usage and disposal.
- Maintain accurate records of analytical results and chemical treatments applied.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in production chemistry within the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in analytical techniques and laboratory instrumentation.
- Strong knowledge of oilfield chemicals and their application in production operations.
- Excellent problem-solving, data interpretation, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with HSE regulations related to chemical handling and environmental protection is essential.
