About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Production Chemist for a contract position, contributing to their upstream operations in the Oil & Gas sector , with a focus on roles supporting teams in Manchester, Greater Manchester, UK . This role is critical for ensuring the optimal chemical performance and integrity of production facilities. You will be involved in diagnosing and resolving production chemistry challenges, optimizing chemical treatment programs, and ensuring environmental compliance. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze production fluid samples to identify scaling, corrosion, or other chemical issues.
- Develop, implement, and monitor chemical injection strategies to mitigate production challenges.
- Evaluate the performance of production chemicals and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Provide technical support and expertise on production chemistry to field operations.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to chemical usage and disposal.
- Troubleshoot unexpected chemical-related production problems and propose solutions.
Requirements
- BSc or MSc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
- Proven experience as a Production Chemist or similar role in the Oil & Gas industry , preferably with upstream experience.
- Strong knowledge of corrosion, scale formation, and oilfield chemical applications .
- Familiarity with analytical techniques and laboratory equipment.
- Experience in developing and managing chemical treatment programs.
- Excellent remote collaboration and communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
