About the Role
Our client, a key entity in the upstream Oil & Gas sector, is looking for a knowledgeable Production Chemist to join their operational team in Reading . This role is vital for monitoring and optimizing the chemical aspects of oil and gas production processes. You will analyze production fluids, develop and implement chemical treatment programs, and troubleshoot production chemistry issues to ensure efficient and safe operations. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to apply your chemical expertise to real-world production challenges and contribute to maximizing asset performance in a demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze crude oil, natural gas, and produced water samples to determine chemical composition and properties.
- Develop, implement, and monitor chemical injection programs for scale, corrosion, and paraffin control.
- Troubleshoot production chemistry problems and recommend solutions to optimize fluid flow and asset integrity.
- Evaluate and recommend new chemical technologies and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to chemical usage and disposal.
- Collaborate with production engineers and field personnel to address operational challenges.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in production chemistry within the Oil & Gas industry .
- Proficiency in analytical techniques relevant to oil and gas production fluids.
- Strong understanding of corrosion, scale, and emulsion chemistries.
- Experience with chemical treatment programs and field application.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
