Property Development Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Property Development Manager to lead and oversee new development projects from inception to completion in the Portsmouth area. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong commercial acumen and a deep understanding of the development lifecycle. You will be responsible for site acquisition, project planning, financial management, and stakeholder engagement to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of successfully managing complex property development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and secure suitable land opportunities for development projects in Portsmouth .
• Manage the entire development process, including planning applications, design, and construction phases.
• Develop and manage project budgets, cash flow, and financial forecasts.
• Appoint and manage external consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
• Liaise with local authorities, planning officers, and community stakeholders.
• Ensure projects meet commercial objectives, quality standards, and health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in property development , ideally within residential or mixed-use sectors.
• Proven ability to manage projects from acquisition through to sales or letting.
• Strong financial management, budgeting, and contract negotiation skills.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the planning system and construction processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g., RICS, CIOB).
