Remote Buyer - Strategic Sourcing

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Remote Buyer specializing in strategic sourcing to join their organisation. This position operates entirely remotely, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere within the UK. You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and engaging with suppliers to secure optimal terms for a wide range of goods and services. This role requires a proactive approach to market analysis, negotiation, and relationship management, playing a key part in driving cost efficiencies and ensuring supply chain resilience. The successful candidate will thrive in an independent work environment and be adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously, collaborating effectively with a distributed team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and procurement opportunities globally.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing events, including RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs, ensuring fair and transparent evaluation processes.
• Negotiate complex contracts, pricing, and service level agreements with suppliers to achieve significant cost savings and favourable terms.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key strategic suppliers, fostering collaboration and ensuring performance targets are met.
• Manage the procurement process from strategy development to contract execution, ensuring alignment with company objectives and risk mitigation.
• Provide expert advice and guidance on procurement best practices to internal stakeholders across various departments.

Requirements

• Substantial experience in strategic sourcing and buyer roles, with a proven ability to deliver cost savings and value.
• Deep understanding of procurement methodologies, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex market data and financial information.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, effective in a remote setting.
• Proficiency with e-procurement tools, sourcing platforms, and standard office productivity software.
• Must be legally eligible to work remotely within the UK.
