About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Procurement Specialist to join their expanding procurement department, based in Coventry but operating fully remotely. In this role, you will be responsible for executing tactical purchasing activities, managing purchase orders, and liaising with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services. You will play a crucial part in maintaining efficient supply chains and supporting the operational needs of the business from a distance. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, ideal for a proactive individual who excels in managing procurement processes independently and thrives in a virtual team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the procurement process for assigned categories, including raising purchase orders and ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers to confirm orders, track deliveries, and resolve any issues.
- Support the negotiation of favourable terms and pricing with new and existing suppliers.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to prevent stockouts.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and databases.
- Assist in the development and implementation of procurement best practices for remote operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a procurement or purchasing role, with a strong understanding of PO management.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for remote collaboration.
- Proficiency with procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Experience with e-procurement systems is advantageous.
