About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Senior Process Engineer to join their global engineering team, supporting operations and projects remotely from Belfast . This role is vital for designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex chemical processes within the oil and gas sector. You will leverage your expertise to drive efficiency, safety, and sustainability across various projects, collaborating closely with international teams through digital platforms. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine process designs, P&IDs, and mass/energy balances for new facilities and modifications.
- Conduct process simulations and analysis to optimize performance, improve yields, and reduce operational costs.
- Troubleshoot operational issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to enhance process stability and safety.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, environmental regulations, and company safety policies.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including project managers, mechanical engineers, and operations personnel, via virtual communication channels.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in process engineering within the oil and gas or chemical processing industries.
- Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, UniSim) and process safety analysis techniques.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and mass transfer principles.
- Excellent remote collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a self-starter mentality.
