About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Remote Senior Water Resources Engineer to lead projects focused on sustainable water management and infrastructure. Working entirely from home, you will provide expert technical leadership on challenges related to flood risk, drainage, water supply, and environmental water quality across the UK. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of complex water resource management projects, including flood defenses, Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), and water supply networks.
- Conduct hydrological and hydraulic modeling to assess water-related risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and design documentation.
- Provide expert advice on water policy, regulatory compliance, and best practices in water resource engineering.
- Manage project teams, client relationships, and stakeholder engagement in a remote context.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical development and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Water Resources Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related environmental science discipline.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in water resources engineering, with a strong portfolio of relevant projects.
- Expertise in hydrological and hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, InfoWorks ICM, MIKE FLOOD).
- In-depth knowledge of UK water legislation, flood risk management policy, and environmental regulations.
- Proven ability to lead projects, manage clients, and deliver technical solutions remotely.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
