About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Remote Software Deployment Engineer to join their distributed team. This position is responsible for the planning, execution, and management of software installations and upgrades across client systems, all managed from a remote location. You will ensure that software is deployed efficiently, securely, and with minimal disruption to end-users. This is an ideal role for an organized and technically proficient individual who thrives in a remote work environment and has a strong background in software lifecycle management within the Installation & Maintenance sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute remote software deployments, upgrades, and patching schedules for various applications and operating systems.
- Develop and maintain deployment scripts and automation tools to streamline the installation process.
- Troubleshoot and resolve deployment failures, configuration issues, and software conflicts remotely.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and support teams to ensure successful software rollouts.
- Create and update technical documentation, including deployment guides and best practices.
- Monitor the health and performance of deployed software and systems, identifying potential issues proactively.
Requirements
- Solid experience in software deployment, configuration management, and system administration.
- Proficiency with deployment tools and technologies (e.g., SCCM, Ansible, Docker).
- Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
