Remote Sports Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a data-driven and analytical Remote Sports Analyst to contribute to their sports performance division. Working from anywhere in the UK, you will be responsible for collecting, analysing, and interpreting data related to athlete performance, team strategies, and competition outcomes, with a potential focus on sports prevalent in the Norwich area. You will create insightful reports and visualisations to provide actionable intelligence for coaches, management, and performance staff. The ideal candidate possesses a strong quantitative background, a passion for sports, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, concise recommendations, driving performance improvements through evidence-based insights in a flexible, remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and organise performance data from various sources, including match analysis software and tracking systems.
• Perform statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Develop clear and concise performance reports and visualisations for stakeholders.
• Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support coaching and strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with performance staff to define data requirements and analysis methodologies.
• Stay abreast of advancements in sports analytics tools and techniques.

Requirements

• Proven experience in sports data analysis or a related quantitative field.
• Strong proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualisation tools (e.g., Excel, R, Python, Tableau).
• Excellent understanding of sports performance metrics and methodologies.
• Ability to communicate complex findings effectively to non-technical audiences.
• A degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Sports Science, or Data Science is preferred.
