About the Role
Our client is seeking a vigilant and skilled Remote Telecom Network Security Analyst to safeguard their telecommunications infrastructure from cyber threats. Operating entirely remotely, you will be responsible for monitoring network security, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure service integrity. This role demands a proactive approach to threat detection and mitigation, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently within a distributed security operations team. You will play a vital role in maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our client's network assets, contributing to a secure digital environment for all users.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic for security threats and anomalies using advanced security tools.
- Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and recommend remediation actions.
- Implement and manage security controls, including firewalls, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), and VPNs.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses.
- Develop and update security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Respond to security alerts and incidents in a timely and effective manner.
- Stay current with emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Network Security Analyst or in a similar cybersecurity role within a telecom environment.
- Strong understanding of network security principles, protocols, and technologies.
- Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint security solutions.
- Knowledge of common cyber attack vectors and mitigation strategies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote setting .
- Relevant certifications like CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are highly preferred.
