Research Scientist - Pharmacology

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Research Scientist with a strong background in pharmacology to join their R&D team in Derby . This role focuses on preclinical drug development, involving the design and execution of in-vitro and in-vivo studies to assess the efficacy and safety of novel therapeutic agents. The position operates on a hybrid model, offering flexibility between on-site laboratory work and remote data analysis and reporting. You will be instrumental in advancing drug candidates through the discovery pipeline, contributing to significant therapeutic breakthroughs. Key Responsibilities

• Design and conduct pharmacological studies to evaluate drug candidates in various disease models.
• Perform in-vitro assays, including receptor binding, enzyme inhibition, and cell-based assays.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data, drawing conclusions and making recommendations.
• Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and contribute to scientific publications.
• Collaborate with colleagues on project teams, ensuring efficient progress in a hybrid work setting.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Toxicology, or a related life science discipline.
• Proven experience in preclinical drug discovery and development.
• Strong understanding of pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) principles.
• Proficiency with relevant laboratory techniques and data analysis software.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, comfortable working in a hybrid capacity.
