Research Scientist - Pharmacology

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Research Scientist with a strong background in Pharmacology to join their team in Liverpool . This role focuses on evaluating the efficacy and safety of novel drug candidates through in vitro and in vivo studies. You will play a key part in advancing drug discovery programs by designing, conducting, and analyzing pharmacological experiments. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of drug mechanisms of action and experience with relevant assay development, contributing to a dynamic hybrid work environment that fosters both focused independent work and team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute in vitro and in vivo pharmacological studies to assess drug efficacy and PK/PD relationships.
• Develop and validate new assay systems for screening drug candidates.
• Analyze experimental data using statistical software and interpret results in the context of drug development.
• Collaborate with chemists and biologists to support lead optimization efforts.
• Prepare study reports, present findings at project meetings, and contribute to regulatory submissions.
• Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines and laboratory safety standards.

Requirements

• PhD in Pharmacology , Toxicology, or a related life science field.
• 3-5 years of relevant postdoctoral or industry experience in pharmacology research.
• Proven experience with various pharmacological assays, including receptor binding, cell-based assays, and animal models.
• Strong understanding of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and drug metabolism.
• Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., GraphPad Prism, R).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
