Research Scientist - Synthetic Chemistry

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and innovative Research Scientist specializing in Synthetic Chemistry . This position is fully remote, enabling you to conduct your research from the convenience of your own home laboratory setup or a designated remote workspace. You will be instrumental in designing and synthesizing novel small molecules for drug discovery programs. This role demands creativity, meticulous execution, and a deep understanding of organic chemistry principles to drive forward critical research projects in a fully virtual, highly collaborative scientific environment dedicated to discovering next-generation therapeutics.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute multi-step synthetic routes for novel organic compounds.
• Perform thorough characterization of synthesized compounds using NMR, Mass Spectrometry, and HPLC.
• Optimize reaction conditions to improve yields and purity.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemists and biologists to assess the properties and potential applications of synthesized molecules.
• Maintain detailed experimental records and contribute to scientific reports and publications.
• Manage and maintain remote laboratory equipment and chemical inventory.

Requirements

• PhD in Organic Chemistry, Synthetic Chemistry, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of postdoctoral or industry experience in synthetic organic chemistry .
• Proven track record of successfully synthesizing complex organic molecules.
• Extensive experience with modern synthetic techniques and purification methods.
• Proficiency in spectroscopic techniques for structural characterization (NMR, MS).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote research setting.
