Retail Stock Controller

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and organized Retail Stock Controller to manage inventory effectively for their store in Oxford . This role is crucial for ensuring optimal stock levels, minimizing waste, and supporting sales by having the right products available at the right time. You will be responsible for overseeing stocktakes, managing incoming and outgoing inventory, and maintaining accurate stock records. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of inventory management systems, supporting the efficient operations of the Oxfordshire retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain accurate inventory records using the stock management system.
• Conduct regular stocktakes, cycle counts, and identify discrepancies.
• Oversee the receiving, unpacking, and processing of incoming stock.
• Ensure proper storage and organisation of merchandise within the stockroom.
• Monitor stock levels and generate reports to identify low stock or overstock situations.
• Collaborate with store management and sales teams to ensure stock availability and meet sales demands.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a stock control , inventory management, or warehousing role.
• Proficiency in using stock management software and POS systems.
• Strong organizational and numerical skills, with a high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Good communication skills for liaising with suppliers and internal teams.
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving inventory issues.
