About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Automotive Technician to join their busy workshop in Leicester . This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of a diverse fleet of vehicles. You will be responsible for complex diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance, working within a team of skilled professionals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to high-quality workmanship, and the ability to mentor junior technicians, contributing to a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in the automotive service industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles using advanced diagnostic equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections and quality checks on completed repair work to guarantee customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working order.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented atmosphere.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Automotive Technician , with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software for identifying vehicle faults.
- Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, engine performance, and braking systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
