About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Chemical Process Design Engineer to join their prestigious engineering department in Oxford . This role is central to conceptualising, designing, and developing innovative chemical processes for new and existing product lines. You will lead design projects, mentor junior engineers, and ensure that all designs meet stringent safety, environmental, and economic criteria. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptual and detailed design of chemical processes, including PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
- Perform process simulations and modelling using industry-standard software to optimise designs.
- Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new process concepts.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical expertise and support.
- Collaborate with project management, operations, and construction teams to ensure successful project execution.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering .
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in process design and engineering within the chemical industry.
- Expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, UniSim) and CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics , fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and mass transfer.
- Proven experience in HAZOP and risk assessment studies related to process design.
- Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
