About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Senior Concept Artist to join their innovative studio in Sunderland . This role is pivotal in defining the visual identity of our upcoming projects, translating ideas into compelling imagery that guides the entire creative process. You will be responsible for creating stunning concept art for characters, environments, and props, working closely with the art director and design teams. This is an excellent opportunity for an artist who thrives in a collaborative environment and wants to make a significant impact on the visual direction of our high-profile productions.

Key Responsibilities

Create high-quality concept art for characters, environments, props, and key visuals based on project briefs.
Collaborate closely with art directors, game designers, and other artists to iterate on visual ideas.
Develop a strong understanding of the project's visual style and ensure consistency across all concept art.
Research and gather visual references to inform design decisions and maintain artistic authenticity.
Present concepts effectively to the team and stakeholders, articulating design choices clearly.
Mentor junior concept artists, providing guidance and feedback to foster their growth.

Requirements

5+ years of professional experience as a Concept Artist in the entertainment industry (games, film, animation).
A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional artistic skill, creativity, and diverse styles.
Proficiency in industry-standard digital painting software such as Photoshop and Procreate.
Excellent understanding of anatomy, perspective, color theory, and composition.
Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration.
