Senior Cybersecurity Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and experienced Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to join their dedicated security team in Bristol . This role is pivotal in protecting the organization's digital assets from evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for monitoring security systems, investigating incidents, and implementing proactive defense measures. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and logs from various systems (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls) to detect and respond to threats.
• Conduct in-depth investigations of security incidents, analyze root causes, and recommend remediation actions.
• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance the organization's security posture.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security weaknesses.
• Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, and advise on countermeasures.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure system configurations and operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a Cybersecurity Analyst or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of security principles, protocols, and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, encryption, firewalls, VPNs).
• Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and incident response procedures.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or GSEC are highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
