About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Cybersecurity Analyst to join their dedicated security operations team in Sunderland . Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events from various sources (SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls) to detect and respond to potential threats.
- Conduct in-depth investigations of security incidents, including root cause analysis and containment strategies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and best practices across the organization.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security weaknesses.
- Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies to proactively enhance the security posture.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of system design and deployment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; relevant certifications are a strong plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a cybersecurity or information security role.
- Proven expertise in security monitoring tools, SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar), and threat intelligence.
- Strong understanding of network security, endpoint security, and cryptography principles .
- Experience with vulnerability management tools and penetration testing methodologies .
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
