Senior Design Engineer - Mechanical

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Design Engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering to join their innovative team in Brighton . You will be instrumental in the conceptualization, design, and development of advanced mechanical systems and products. Working in a collaborative R&D environment, you will take ownership of design projects, ensuring technical feasibility, performance, and manufacturability. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design process for new mechanical products and systems, from concept to production.
• Develop detailed 3D CAD models , technical drawings, and specifications.
• Conduct thorough design validation using FEA and CFD simulations.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, testing, and quality assurance teams to ensure design integrity.
• Identify and resolve complex design challenges, optimizing for performance, cost, and reliability.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the overall technical development of the design team.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Expertise in advanced CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools.
• Strong knowledge of materials selection, manufacturing processes, and DFM principles.
• Proven ability to lead design projects and contribute to strategic technical decisions.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
