About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Drilling Engineer to bolster their operations based out of Coventry . This critical role will involve the planning, execution, and supervision of drilling operations across various projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. You will be responsible for designing well plans, managing drilling risks, and overseeing the performance of drilling crews and contractors. Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed well drilling plans and programs, including trajectory, casing design, and fluid selection.
- Manage and supervise drilling operations, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for drilling hazards such as kicks, lost circulation, and stuck pipe.
- Oversee the performance of drilling contractors and equipment, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and technical specifications.
- Monitor drilling progress, analyze daily reports, and implement adjustments to optimize drilling efficiency and minimize non-productive time.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior drilling engineers and operational teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in drilling engineering , including onshore and offshore operations.
- Proven experience in well design, directional drilling , and managing complex drilling challenges.
- Thorough knowledge of drilling equipment, tools, and associated technologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a strong commitment to safety.
