About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Drilling Engineer to join their team in Birmingham . In this critical role, you will be responsible for the planning, design, and execution of safe, efficient, and cost-effective drilling operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure operational integrity and manage risks associated with complex drilling campaigns in the oil and gas sector . Key Responsibilities

Plan and design drilling programs, including well trajectories, casing designs, and mud programs.
Oversee drilling operations on-site or remotely, ensuring adherence to safety standards and company policies.
Conduct daily drilling performance reviews and implement measures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Manage drilling risks and develop contingency plans for potential hazards.
Coordinate with service providers and manage contracts related to drilling operations.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of drilling operations, including end-of-well reports.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in drilling engineering , with a strong focus on onshore and/or offshore operations.
Proven experience in well planning, execution, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of drilling equipment , fluids, and associated technologies.
Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
