About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Drilling Engineer to join their expanding operations based in Coventry . This critical role focuses on the planning, execution, and optimization of safe and efficient drilling operations across various onshore and offshore projects. You will be responsible for designing drilling programs, managing drilling fluid systems, and ensuring compliance with stringent health, safety, and environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities

Develop comprehensive drilling plans and programs, including well trajectory, casing design, and mud systems.
Oversee drilling operations on-site or remotely, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project timelines.
Manage and optimize drilling fluid properties and circulation systems.
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential drilling hazards.
Supervise and mentor junior drilling engineers and rig personnel.
Evaluate new drilling technologies and techniques to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements

Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in drilling engineering roles.
Proven track record in planning and executing complex onshore and offshore wells.
Strong knowledge of well control principles and equipment.
Familiarity with drilling simulation software and data analysis.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
