About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Exploration Geologist to join their dynamic team in Sheffield, South Yorkshire . This role is critical for identifying and evaluating new mineral prospects and contributing to the company's resource pipeline. You will be responsible for planning and executing exploration programs, interpreting geological data, and making recommendations for future drilling and evaluation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in grassroots exploration and brownfield project advancement within the mining industry , coupled with a passion for discovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and manage field exploration programs, including geological mapping, sampling, and geophysical surveys.
- Interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to identify potential targets for mineral exploration .
- Prepare detailed geological reports and presentations for management and technical reviews.
- Oversee and conduct drilling campaigns, including core logging and core sampling.
- Develop and maintain geological databases and contribute to resource modeling efforts.
- Collaborate with other geoscientists and mining professionals to advance exploration projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology or Earth Sciences.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in mineral exploration , with a strong focus on precious metals or base metals.
- Proficiency with geological software, including GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS) and 3D modeling tools.
- Experience in structural geology, geochemistry, and exploration geophysics.
- Strong fieldwork skills and the ability to work in remote or challenging environments.
- Excellent analytical, report writing, and communication skills.
