About the Role

Our client, a key player in the Oil & Gas exploration sector, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Geologist to join their dedicated team in Wolverhampton . This role is instrumental in identifying and evaluating potential hydrocarbon reserves through detailed geological analysis and interpretation of seismic data. You will contribute to strategic exploration initiatives, collaborate with geoscience and engineering teams, and play a crucial part in shaping the company's future exploration portfolio. This position offers the chance to work on diverse geological challenges and contribute significantly to uncovering new energy resources.

Key Responsibilities

Interpret seismic, well log, and core data to build detailed subsurface geological models.
Identify and evaluate potential exploration targets and prospects, assessing geological risk.
Develop and refine exploration strategies based on geological understanding and basin analysis.
Collaborate with reservoir engineers and geophysicists to integrate data and optimize field development.
Conduct geological field studies and contribute to data acquisition planning.
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and geological summaries for internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

MSc or PhD in Geology, Earth Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in exploration geology, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
Proficiency in geological interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
Strong understanding of basin analysis, sedimentology, stratigraphy, and structural geology.
Proven ability to assess and quantify geological uncertainty and risk.
Excellent analytical and communication skills, with a collaborative approach suitable for the Wolverhampton -based team.
