Senior Geologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly qualified Senior Geologist to join their exploration and production team in Edinburgh . This critical role involves geological analysis, prospect evaluation, and resource assessment to support the company's upstream activities in the oil and gas sector . You will work closely with reservoir engineers and geophysicists to identify and characterize potential hydrocarbon reserves. Key Responsibilities

• Interpret seismic data, well logs, and core samples to delineate geological structures and stratigraphic traps.
• Develop and maintain geological models for reservoir characterization and performance prediction.
• Evaluate exploration opportunities and prepare geological reports for investment decisions.
• Collaborate with geophysicists and reservoir engineers on field development planning.
• Identify and manage geological risks associated with exploration and production activities.
• Stay abreast of new geological technologies and methodologies relevant to the oil and gas industry .

Requirements

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in exploration or development geology, preferably within the oil and gas industry .
• Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
• Strong understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, and structural geology.
• Excellent analytical, interpretive, and communication skills.
