About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their established consultancy, operating on a fully remote basis . This role demands extensive experience in the interpretation of ground conditions and the provision of expert geotechnical advice for complex engineering projects across the UK. You will be responsible for leading the geotechnical aspects of projects, mentoring less experienced engineers, and ensuring high-quality deliverables, all managed from your home office. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the geotechnical design and analysis for major infrastructure and building projects.
• Interpret complex geological data and conduct advanced soil-structure interaction analyses.
• Prepare comprehensive geotechnical design reports and risk assessments.
• Provide expert advice on foundation design, slope stability, and ground improvement techniques.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to a team of geotechnical engineers remotely.
• Oversee the quality assurance of geotechnical deliverables and ensure compliance with standards.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
• Over 10 years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering consultancy.
• Expertise in numerical modelling software (e.g., PLAXIS) and advanced geotechnical analysis.
• Proven track record of managing and delivering complex geotechnical projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a remote setting.
