About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly competent Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their established team in Norwich . This role is central to providing expert geotechnical analysis and design for a range of offshore and onshore energy projects. You will be responsible for managing site investigations, interpreting ground conditions, and developing foundation designs for structures such as wind turbines, platforms, and pipelines. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to significant infrastructure projects within the renewable energy and oil & gas sectors, working in a company that values technical excellence and client satisfaction. You will be instrumental in ensuring the stability and safety of critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and interpret geotechnical site investigations, including CPT, boreholes, and laboratory testing.
- Perform detailed geotechnical design for foundations, slopes, and earthworks for offshore and onshore structures.
- Conduct advanced analysis of soil-structure interaction, pile capacity, and settlement prediction.
- Prepare high-quality geotechnical reports, design documents, and risk assessments.
- Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and other engineering disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.
- Mentor junior geotechnical engineers and contribute to the technical development of the team.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in geotechnical engineering consultancy , with a strong focus on the energy sector.
- Proven experience in designing foundations for offshore wind turbines or oil and gas platforms.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software packages (e.g., PLAXIS, Geo5, GRLWEAP).
- Strong analytical skills, excellent report writing abilities, and good communication and client-facing skills.
