About the Role
Our client seeks a seasoned Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead investigations and design for projects in and around Plymouth . This crucial role involves assessing ground conditions, advising on foundation design, slope stability, and earthworks, and ensuring the safety and viability of our infrastructure projects. You will work closely with project teams, clients, and regulatory bodies, providing expert geotechnical advice and contributing to sustainable and robust engineering solutions in the Devon region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage geotechnical site investigations, including planning, supervision, and interpretation of results.
- Perform complex geotechnical analyses for foundations, excavations, tunnels, and earthworks.
- Develop detailed geotechnical designs and provide technical specifications for construction.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant geotechnical codes and industry best practices.
- Review and approve consultant and contractor geotechnical submissions.
- Mentor junior geotechnical engineers and contribute to the team's technical development.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 8 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Expertise in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, or similar.
- Strong understanding of UK geotechnical standards and guidelines.
- Excellent report writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
