About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their established consultancy in Cambridge . This role involves providing expert geotechnical advice and analysis for a range of infrastructure and energy projects, including offshore wind farms and onshore developments. You will be responsible for planning and supervising site investigations, interpreting soil mechanics data, and designing foundations and earthworks to ensure structural integrity and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage geotechnical site investigations, including CPT, boreholes, and in-situ testing.
- Analyze soil and rock mechanics data to determine engineering properties.
- Design foundations for offshore structures (e.g., wind turbines, platforms) and onshore civil engineering projects.
- Perform slope stability, settlement, and bearing capacity analyses using specialized software.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, specifications, and recommendations.
- Liaise with clients, project managers, and regulatory bodies to ensure project requirements are met.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with significant exposure to offshore projects.
- Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, FLAC).
- Strong understanding of soil mechanics, rock mechanics, and foundation engineering principles.
- Experience in interpreting site investigation data and preparing comprehensive reports.
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and project management skills.
