Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the real-time operation of the electricity transmission and distribution network.

• Respond effectively to grid disturbances, faults, and emergencies, coordinating restoration efforts.
• Conduct post-incident analysis to identify root causes and implement preventative measures.
• Collaborate with system planners and other stakeholders to integrate new generation and demand resources.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical expertise on grid operations and control systems in Belfast .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in power systems operations or grid control.
• In-depth knowledge of power system dynamics, protection schemes, and SCADA systems.
• Experience with grid simulation and analysis tools is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with UK and Irish grid codes and regulatory requirements.
