About the Role

Our client, a prominent engineering consultancy located in Reading , is seeking an accomplished Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team. This role is crucial for leading the design and development of complex mechanical systems for a diverse range of industries. You will be responsible for project delivery, technical integrity, and mentoring junior engineers, working on challenging projects from conception through to completion. Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, analysis, and development of mechanical systems and components using advanced engineering tools.
Conduct in-depth FEA and CFD analysis to optimize performance, durability, and efficiency.
Manage engineering projects, including scope definition, resource planning, and budget control.
Oversee the creation of detailed engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of mechanical engineers and designers.
Liaise with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.

Requirements

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field.
10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering design and project management.
Expertise in CAD/CAE software (e.g., CATIA, ANSYS) and a strong understanding of simulation techniques.
Proven ability to lead complex engineering projects and teams.
In-depth knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving capabilities.
