About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and innovative Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team, operating remotely to support their operations in Reading, Berkshire, UK . This role offers the opportunity to work on challenging and exciting mechanical design projects, leveraging advanced simulation and design tools from a home-based setting. You will be responsible for leading technical aspects of projects, contributing to innovation, and ensuring the highest standards of engineering excellence. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong technical acumen and excellent remote collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimize mechanical components and systems for new and existing products.
Conduct advanced FEA analysis , thermal simulations, and other engineering calculations to validate designs.
Collaborate remotely with cross-functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) .
Troubleshoot design issues and provide technical solutions to engineering and manufacturing teams.
Stay current with technological advancements in mechanical engineering and recommend new approaches.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in mechanical design and analysis.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL).
Strong understanding of material science, manufacturing processes, and product development lifecycles.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong analytical skills.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for a remote working environment.
