About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Surveyor to lead surveying operations for their projects in the West Midlands, based in Wolverhampton . This role is essential for accurately mapping and monitoring mine workings, ensuring precise measurements for planning, excavation, and safety compliance. You will utilize advanced surveying technologies and techniques to provide critical spatial data, working closely with engineers and geologists. This is a key position within our mining operations , offering significant responsibility and the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute topographic, boundary, and underground surveys for mining operations.
- Utilize advanced surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS/GNSS, laser scanners, and drones.
- Process and analyze survey data to create accurate mine plans, cross-sections, and volume calculations.
- Monitor ground movement and subsidence, reporting findings to management.
- Ensure that all survey data and reports meet stringent accuracy standards and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and mentor junior survey staff, overseeing their training and professional development.
Requirements
- Degree or HND in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mining surveying or related fields.
- Proficiency with industry-standard surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, specific mining software).
- Experience with geodetic control networks and deformation monitoring.
- Strong understanding of principles of underground and surface surveying.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
