About the Role
Our client, a significant player in the burgeoning energy storage market, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Operations Manager to oversee their critical facilities in and around Liverpool . This role is vital for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of large-scale battery storage systems that support the national grid. You will lead a team of technicians and engineers, manage operational budgets, and implement best practices to optimize performance and asset lifespan. This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to contribute to the stability and future of the UK's energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of multiple energy storage sites, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, procedures, and KPIs to meet performance targets.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of site supervisors, technicians, and engineers.
- Oversee maintenance schedules, ensuring proactive and reactive maintenance is performed efficiently and safely.
- Manage operational budgets, resource allocation, and procurement of necessary services and parts.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance standards across all sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical) or Operations Management.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in operations management, preferably within the power generation , utilities, or energy storage sectors.
- Proven experience in managing technical teams and operational budgets.
- Strong understanding of battery energy storage systems (BESS) technology and grid operations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
