About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Purchasing Manager to lead their procurement operations in Leicester . This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of the purchasing lifecycle, from strategic sourcing to supplier relationship management, ensuring the acquisition of goods and services that meet quality standards, cost targets, and delivery timelines. You will play a crucial role in optimizing procurement strategies, driving cost savings, and enhancing the efficiency of the supply chain, working closely with various departments to understand their needs and procure the best possible solutions in a competitive market environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies to achieve cost savings and improve supplier performance.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favourable terms, pricing, and contracts for goods and services.
• Manage and mentor a team of purchasing professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers and stay abreast of industry trends and innovations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements in all procurement activities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast demand and plan procurement activities accordingly.

Requirements

• Proven track record of at least 7 years in purchasing or supply chain management, with significant experience in a managerial role.
• Demonstrated success in negotiating complex contracts and achieving substantial cost reductions.
• Strong understanding of procurement best practices, market dynamics, and risk management principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
• A relevant professional qualification, such as CIPS, is highly advantageous.
