About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Purchasing Manager to lead their procurement operations. This role is pivotal in driving cost savings, ensuring supply chain resilience, and fostering strong supplier relationships. As a fully remote position, you will leverage digital communication tools and collaboration platforms to manage a global team and diverse vendor network. You will play a critical role in shaping the company's sourcing strategies and contribute significantly to operational efficiency and profitability from your home office, making a substantial impact on the company's bottom line and competitive advantage in the Aberdeen region and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive purchasing strategies to optimize spend and meet organizational objectives.
- Lead and mentor a remote team of purchasing professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Negotiate favourable terms, pricing, and contracts with key suppliers to achieve cost reductions and enhance value.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify new sourcing opportunities and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Oversee the procurement process from requisition to payment, ensuring compliance with company policies and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various departments to understand their needs and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Requirements
- Proven track record of at least 8 years in strategic purchasing and procurement , with demonstrated success in leading teams.
- Extensive experience in contract negotiation, supplier relationship management, and cost analysis.
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and best practices in a remote work environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems .
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
