About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly analytical Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their dynamic team in Aberdeen . This critical role involves managing and optimizing hydrocarbon recovery from complex reservoirs, ensuring maximum value extraction while adhering to strict safety and environmental standards. You will play a pivotal part in reservoir characterization, performance monitoring, and the development of strategic production plans. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of subsurface geology, fluid dynamics, and simulation technologies, contributing to the long-term success of our operations in the North Sea and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed reservoir studies, including volumetric analysis and performance forecasting using advanced simulation software.
- Develop and implement optimized development strategies and production plans for existing and new fields.
- Monitor reservoir performance, analyze production data, and recommend interventions to enhance recovery.
- Collaborate with geologists, drilling engineers, and production engineers to ensure integrated project execution.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and stakeholders, outlining reservoir potential and operational recommendations.
- Mentor junior reservoir engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering , with a strong focus on North Sea assets.
- Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Petrel, Eclipse, CMG) and data analysis tools .
- Solid understanding of reservoir characterization techniques, fluid properties , and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.
- Proven experience in managing project scopes and timelines effectively.
